About

A multidisciplinary platform for culture, creativity and community.

Vision Liberate is a creative and cultural platform exploring how our experiences shape who we are, how we see ourselves and how we navigate the world. Its work spans creative and cultural projects and a community wellbeing practice — different expressions of one perspective.

How we got here

The work grew. The questions remained.

Vision Liberate began as a research-led wellbeing and healing practice, working with women and young people — particularly those from racialised communities — through trauma-informed, creative approaches that centre connection, healing and growth.

Over time, that practice has grown into a broader creative and cultural platform: film, conversation, storytelling and writing that explore the same questions from a different angle.

The two are connected. A shared interest in how our experiences shape who we are runs through everything — whether that is a conversation with a filmmaker, an essay on belonging, or a reflective space created for a group of women.

The thinking that connects it

Research as an approach, not a department

Research underpins the work rather than sitting apart from it. A background in qualitative research and medical anthropology shapes how Vision Liberate listens, asks questions and tells stories — attentive to lived experience, culture and the forces that shape our lives.

Across every strand, the same interests recur: identity, culture, belonging, wellbeing and human experience.

Founder & Creative Lead

Bomafabia Wokoma

Vision Liberate is led by Bomafabia Wokoma, whose background across qualitative research, medical anthropology, mental health, facilitation, filmmaking and cultural storytelling gives the platform its perspective.

Her role spans both expressions of the work — as founder of the community wellbeing practice and as creative lead across Vision Liberate's films, conversations and writing. Rather than a single discipline, the work is defined by a way of thinking: curious, reflective and centred on lived experience.
